XMR-A is part of the XMORE platform, the comprehensive range of IEDs for medium voltage applications that includes protection for feeders, motors, generators, transformers, and capacitor banks. The Thytronic XMR-A IED complies with CEI-016 standards. Thanks to its hardware and software modularity, XMR-A is flexible and scalable in terms of applications and performance.
Features of the XMR-A Protection Relay
The XMR-A relay is used in power distribution grids with any state of the neutral (insulated, earthed with high or low resistance, earthed with Petersen coil (compensated neutral) and any resistance, directly connected to earth) for the following typical applications:
- protecting radial lines, transformers
- as a CEI 0-16 certified General Protection System (SPG) for active or passive users connected to the public distribution network, with possible directional earth protection 67N (with optional HW package).
The following measurement circuits are present:
- Versions with inputs from CT
- Three phase currents with rated current independently selectable at 1A or 5 A via software
- One residual current input with rated current selectable at 1A or 5 A via software.
Optionally:
- One additional residual current input with rated current selectable at 1A or 5 A via software.
Or
- A residual voltage input, with rated voltage programmable in the range 50...130V (UEn = 100V)
To integrate the protection functions, there are the functions of failure to open the circuit-breaker (BF), CT monitoring (74CT), VT monitoring (74VT), trip circuit monitoring (74TCS), synchronism control and programmable logic (PLC).
The methods of calibration, programming and reading of the measurements and recordings can be implemented through Personal Computer with Software support ( ThyVisor) or via bus RS485 or Ethernet communication; all the above operations are possible using the keyboard frontal view (MMI).
